Sun day!

After much back and forth, we finally settled on a backsplash. And in no time flat, it was up.

It's blanco travertine mounted on the diagonal. The centerpiece is a killer marble sun we found on sale at one of the tile places. We saw it and slapped down a credit card on the spot, having no idea how we were gonna mount it. The thing weights a ton. Not looking forward to the next earthquake.

But it does make the room.

In other news, the living room floor is in. And the island chandelier thingie is up.

Electrical came and wired everything up. Plumbing is in later this week.

Should be a couple more weeks. Thank god, because all this takeout is making me a fat pig. Which sucks, because now i'm going to have a badass gourmet kitchen just in time to start eating salads.
