Everything's pretty much done. We got some new window treatments and nice rug to the new fam room. Added a couple club chairs. Hooked up the widescreen. Plants. Fruit. The works.
Of course, there's a few probs here and there. Biggest being the stupidly expensive Thermador range doesn't work. Specifically, the oven doesn't work. Clicks like crazy but has stopped igniting. Our appliance seller sent out a guy and he determined that, yes, it's not working. He proceeded to order a part and tell us they'll be back some day. Don't know what that means. But I've got a bad feeling we're about to enter an infinite loop of idiocy. I hope we don't end up endlessly on the phone with some jacktards who can't help us.
Meanwhile, we have only used the oven once. However, I'm happy to announce that our $75 convection toaster oven has been totally outperforming the several thousand dollar range. We baked a pie in there the other nite.
Anyway, here's the pics of the finished kitchen and family room. Along with some before pics to show the huge difference.
It's changed our home lives tremendously. I use the island as a desk at nite -- i'm typing this from there right now. And we all sit around while one of us cooks, so i'm getting to know my kids again. We actually talk to each other...huh, go figure...
