When I came home from work on Friday I smelled something weird. Like some strong chemical..no..some glue...adhesive...something...YESSS...the granite was in!
Dropping my nightly take out dinner on the floor, I rushed out back to the kitchen and was greeted by some sweet slabs of ancient rock, all polished up for our modern-day pleasure. The color is perfect. The install, perfect. Amazing.
Then I saw it. Behind the sink.
As a last minute add-on, we had our fabricator use the same granite to make a new bottom shelf for our window box, so it all matches. And it's great, except it overlaps the counter behind the sink, LEAVING NO ROOM FOR OUR KITCHEN FAUCET! Seems the combination of the window shelf and the oversize swimming pool, er, sink and the size of our cabinet just weren't meant to be.
I've already spent the majority of the weekend staring at this mess. Right now, the options seem to be cutting the granite shelf back so its flush with the wall. Or corner-mounting the faucet. If anyone has any suggestions, we're all ears.
